Common Weal is partnering with youth-serving organizations and a range of artists from across Saskatchewan to offer positive, community-building programming based on the Hip-Hop creative arts. The hands-on collaborations between established/ emerging Hip-Hop artists and youth will provide skill development, a forum for voice, and promote social justice. Local community performances and a provincial showcase of the artists and compilation CD will be presented as part of the Saskatchewan Centennial Celebrations with the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. Artists in this project range from recording professional artists to graffiti style artists including to date: Troy Gronsdahl, Jon Cennon (a.k.a. Aries, The Beatsmith), Josh Goff (a.k.a. Truth), Tallis Newkirk (a.k.a Tallisman), Smokie Campbell and Steven Reed.
