Connect: Towards a Socially-Engaged Aesthetic, was a three day conference in May 2010, that brought together artists, activists and programmers to network, share ideas and explore methodologies that engage communities and the public realm.
Keynote speaker for the event was Suzanne Lacey an artist and writer whose work has, for the last 30 years, been focused on interventionist art, policy and the public sphere.
During the conference, Judith Marcuse, a Canadian artist and producer active in socially-engaged art for over 40 years, was presented with the Jacqueline Lemieux Prize by Claude Schryer, Coordinator of Inter-Arts, Canada Council for the Arts.
